"Witness" by Karen Hesse is a novel written as a collection of diary entries of the people in a small town in Vermont. The Ku Klux Klan moves into town and their lives are changed in a profound way. The insight and observations made by the 12 and 6 year old girls frightened me. The similarities between the Ku Klux Klan and the discrimination that occur today is way too similar.
An amazing story that took me about an hour and a half to read.
